Development environment where the bug occurred

  • Db2 Developer Extension version: 2.17
  • Editor platform
    • Visual Studio Code
    • Eclipse Theia
  • Editor platform version: 1.95.3
  • Operating system on which your editor runs: Windows 10 22H2 AMD64
  • Java Version: Java 17
  • Db2 for z/OS version: Db2 13
  • Log files attached?: No

Problem description

There is a procedure for sharing connection definitions, which states that the receiver must modify them to add their credentials before the first use.
Sharing connection definitions

If they do not do so, the IBM Db2 extension for z/OS Developer prompts for the password but does not detect the absence of the user code and does not request it...
The extension should request the user code (before asking for the password) if it has not been provided.
If this is not possible, then a more explicit error should be triggered regarding the issue, rather than the simple message below:
