Stepper Motor Temperatures

Good day all

I have an Ender 3v2 with the 4.2.7 board installed and a BLTouch. I am using the 1.3.4 3x3HS Firmware.
I calibrated my VREF with the previous firmware to what Creality recomends and my motor temps have been relatively good, I guess.
I decided to check my motors after a 2 hours of printing with the 1.3.4 firmware and my motors seems hotter than before, The Y stepper quite hot. In other words remove finger after about 5 seconds.
Is it possible that the firmware has changed something with respect to the current, causing my motors to be hotter?
I recently recalibrated the VREF to the minimum of creality recomendations and in some cases slightly lower and they are still kind of hot.

Creality seems to recomend minimum X=1.10, Y=1.00, Z=1.15, E=1.35 for the 4.2.7 board with TMC2225 drivers.
Has anybody tried other values with success or is creality out to lunch on their numbers.
