Actually I think I just realized that I have faulty calipers, I used my better set and got a way different reading. That seems to have solved the issue. I'd still like it if someone could let me know if I'm using the "x & y probe offset" and "x & y home offset" correctly. |

I just installed Byers and I'm running into an issue.
My previous firmware had a directive labeled something like "probe distance from nozzle"
From googling I'm seeing people say that "x probe offset" in the "advanced" menu is the equivalent so I measured the distance between the probe and the Hotend and entered that value into that setting.
When I "home all" the Hotend assemble is off center (if i understand correctly the probe should be at the center of the bed?)
so I noted the current x and y positions and adjusted the x and y positions through the menu until it was centered then calculated the difference and subtracted that from the x home offset and y home offset in the movement menu.
However now when I probe the bed the probe is right on the edge of the build plate, like a mm away from missing the bed completely.
I'm just wondering if my understanding of these directives is correct as I'm guessing the probe isn't supposed to be that close?
