I noticed that the int64 type is used when calculating the mean. If the result falls within the int64 range, the numerator is also calculated using the int64 format, which leads to an incorrect result. Let’s calculate the numerator using the int128 format instead
Streaming groupby now supports sums of wide integer values, including values that exceed 64-bit range during aggregation.
SUM, MEAN, and VARIANCE can be combined for integral inputs, and SUM and MEAN can share state for the same input column.
Bug Fixes
Improved accuracy for means calculated from signed and unsigned 64-bit values, including extreme values, nulls, and data processed across batches or merged workers.
Streaming groupby now uses widened state for integral SUM aggregations. Finalization converts wide SUM results to INT64 and can use retained sums to calculate matching MEAN results.

Summary
Widened SUM state cpp/src/groupby/streaming_groupby/common.cuh, cpp/src/groupby/streaming_groupby/impl.cu, cpp/src/groupby/streaming_groupby/warp_aggregate.cu
Integral, non-boolean SUM requests use 128-bit warp aggregation state and DECIMAL128 aggregate-result schemas.
SUM and MEAN finalization cpp/src/groupby/streaming_groupby/impl.cu
Finalization converts wide SUM columns to INT64. When a matching MEAN request needs the sum, the implementation retains a FLOAT64 copy and finalizes the MEAN from that sum and the cached count.
Tests cover signed and unsigned integer means, combined SUM and MEAN requests, nulls, merging, growth, and comparisons with regular groupby. Allocation tracking accounts for aggregation-specific state widths.
Some means over aliased columns can be wrong, and the configured groupby test suite cannot pass. Fix both before merging.

Explanation
The title names the main change: mean aggregations are computed in the int128 type. The raw summary describes int128-based sums for mean finalization and a warp aggregation change, and the PR description states the numerator for mean is now computed in int128. The title is concise, specific, and matches the changeset.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description states the problem: the mean numerator is computed in int64, which gives incorrect results when the result fits in the int64 range. It proposes computing the numerator in int128. This matches the raw summary, which describes retaining a FLOAT64 sum for mean finalization and using 128-bit state. The description is related to the changeset and is not off-topic.

Use the canonical request identity for exact MEAN sums.

Use the canonical request identity for exact MEAN sums.
A table_view can contain the same column view at two indices. _value_col_indices maps both indices to the first one, but has_mean and the later exact_sums lookup use the raw request index. A MEAN request for only the second alias therefore uses the INT64-cast numerator. For two INT64_MAX rows, the numerator cannot represent the sum, so the final mean is incorrect.

Use the canonical input-column identity throughout exact MEAN sum handling:
update the `has_mean` check and the later `exact_sums` lookup to resolve each
request through `_value_col_indices` and `_request_first_agg_offset`, so aliased
column views use the same exact-sum entry.
Exclude constructor allocations from old-state accounting.
514-522: Major · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Exclude constructor allocations from old-state accounting.
The size-only callback records the 4,096-byte _key_batch_ids constructor allocation as an old state buffer. The subsequent ASSERT_EQ(old_buffers.size(), num_columns) therefore fails before the test exercises growth. Since this test is registered in the configured suite, the normal groupby test workflow cannot pass.

Update the memory-resource callback’s old-buffer accounting so constructor
allocations are excluded; begin recording old state only after the
streaming_groupby instance is constructed and before
agg.aggregate(repeated_batch) runs.
