Q&A: Why can't I use the value from the Gradle properties file?
At runtime, if you're not building and running with Gradle (building and running with IntelliJ is recommended), these values in the Fabric Mod JSON are not populated with the values present in gradle.properties
, and the version at runtime would be the literal string ${pswg_version}
instead of interpolating with the correct value, e.g. 0.0.108+1.20.1
. Hopefully future developments will prevent this redundancy, but unfortunately, specifying the version number in both locations is best practice for now.
