Can't get a Channel Points listener working

Anyone have a code sample that functions to return Channel Points?
I've tried an EventSub implementation AND a PubSub implementation.
And for each, once its "working," nothing comes through when I send Test Alerts from the dashboard.

Ah! So Twitch being Twitch...
Sending a Test Alert doesn't send a Test Alert anywhere but to their own little front-end. (i hate this platform) But, for channel points at least, you CAN just go into your own chat, while offline, and send the real deal through. And that's allowed me to confirm that my PubSub implementation IS working. I have to wonder now if my EventSub implementation was working an hour and a half ago. But hey! It's not like my time has any value to it... RIGHT!?!??!

Meanwhile, I have no idea how deep this horrifically unintuitive and developer unfriendly rabbit hole goes when it comes to the kind of stuff you can't just DO to test. I've got a command prompt open with the Twitch-CLI websocket started, and it's clear as mud, right now, what comes next.

Developing a Twitch app seems to be the kind of thing you either turn into a profession, or you just never get your wasted time back.
