Potential Wi-Fi Incompatibility with Modbus/TCP

There have been reports that newer SolarEdge firmware versions block Modbus/TCP when using a wireless connection. You may need to contact SolarEdge to downgrade firmware if this is the case, or switch to using the wired Ethernet port on your inverter.

Another possibility is an external device connected to the inverter's Ethernet port such as a TP-Link TL-WR802N. It supports a "client mode" which allows devices that require a wired connection to access an existing Wi-Fi network.

Modbus TCP over secured Wi-Fi is now officially supported for residential inverters as of CPU version 4.16.19

• Modbus TCP over unsecured Wi-Fi is blocked
• Modbus TCP over Wi-Fi for commercial inverters is blocked
• Note: Modbus TCP over Ethernet and Modbus TCP over RS485 for all inverters are supported
