We should have some restrictions on what your PAUSE id can be / include, and that should include:

  • you can't use the name of a well-known company (unless you're requesting it for that company)
  • you can't use a well-known trademark
  • what else?

We should say this (a) on the form where you request a PAUSE account, and (b) in the PAUSE Operating Model.

This came about because someone requested a name and after conferring with some wise people, I said "no, please pick something else". So it should be a documented restriction.
