Thanks for this wonderful repository. It seem really good. One thing that I like is that you can install it completely automatic running the script from the command line
However, I have been struggling the whole evening to get it done, and finally I didn't succeed. Perhaps you have some helpful advise.
First, a question on the installation procedure.
In the readme you suggest to install from the text-based installer. I tried that, but I picked the installer with secrets. At some point you have to add the generated ssh-keygen code to my github. How is that possible from the text-based installer? At the end I did the whole thing in the gui-installer, which allowed me to open my github and add the ssh public key by copy/pasting it. But since you are so explicitly linking to the minimal installer I wondered if I am doing something wrong.
Anyway, this is not my major concern. I ended up by using you install script without secret a couple of times, but I was never able to get a functioning system. In the end, I can login (after first setting my password via de root). However, I got a completely black screen with only a menubar at the top. The menubar it self doesn't respond to anything, except for the small calendar, which I can open by clicking on it.
I read something about nvdia, by which I had to boot the installer in the second option using nomodeset. I indeed do have 2 graphical cards in my laptop, one nvidia and one AMD radeon. With the normal installer I just pick the first install option and I get only the AMD graphical card (in fact, nvidia is not even listen in my hardware-configuration). Anyway, I tried both: an install with the first and with the second option, but in both cases I get this black-non responsive screen with only the menubar
Another thing i noticed is that booting takes a long time, much longer than a normal install by the nix installer. That starts up within 5 seconds, but after your template it takes 1:30 minute, as it keeps hanging on the line: /sys/subsytem/net/devices/wlp4s0 , after 1:30 it continues. Is that a bad sign ?
Anyway, a whole story. I do would like to give your configuration a try as i like the automotive way of installing, but so far I have not been able to get it running. Would you have any advice for me what I could try ? Any hints appreciated!
Regards
Eelco
