I think this is not a BIRT specific issue, but related to the Eclipse IDE in general. As I already mentioned in #712, when I use the Eclipse installer to setup a BIRT development environment, the build fails with errors. I downloaded jdk-11.0.13+8 (Temurin) and the generated eclipse.ini contains

In order to build BIRT (with Eclipse), I have to explicitly select the other "Installed JRE". I guess this is because the 11.0.2+9-jre is only a JRE, not a full JDK. But the error message is so useless. I didn't find any information what ct.sym is (a file?) and what purpose it has. After this (and a Clean/Build), most of the errors disappeared, but the birt-runtime-test project still showed errors. |
