I am using CopyPasteExternal between Blender, Houdini and Substance Painter and I can't find a way to keep the weight normal applied to the mesh when copy and pasting between softwares. I always end up with a flat shading mesh and I need to apply again smoothing to it after pasting. That's not a big deal in modeling packages, but it's a deal-breaker in Painter, because I cannot make mesh operations in there and painting on the pasted mesh gives awful results.
Am I missing something or is it a known issue of the plugin?
Thanks for the awesome work
