Feature Description

Hi Josxha

We are currently using the Flutter Map Libre version and getting too many crashes.
We are looking at all and any options for our app to get the right mapping option in.

IOS is a requirement for us, and then outside of that its all around stability.

Could we have a chat in regards to how we could help you get this package to that level of feature and stability. Happy to look at sponsoring also to that end

you can contact me on matt at senses dot co dot uk also!

Hi @matthiscock,

Stability is an important goal and actually one of the initial reasons I started with this package. I wouldn't consider the package stable as it is right now, since it hasn't been tested by a wider audience on a wide variety of devices yet. I'm always looking forward for users that provide feedback and report potential bugs the experience. I'm positive that we can acchieve a good stability eventually.

Support for iOS is a feature that holds many users back to use this package. I'd love to add iOS as a supported platform to the package. I have experience in iOS development, so it shouldn't be a problem. Similar how it is done to Android with Kotlin, I want to bind directly to ObjectiveC using ffigen. This way we can potentially work around the issue in maplibre/flutter-maplibre-gl#512. Unfortunally though, I don't have the required hardware for iOS development.

My current plan is to wait for the 2024 mac that will happen sometime in November to invest in a mac and if possible in an iPad to test on a physical device. I am more than happy that you want to join forces and consider sponsoring this milestone as I plan to do a funding campain. The plan is to start development right away and release the iOS support to open source once the funding goal is reached.

Let me know what you think. I'll send you a mail for futher discussion but posted my reply here for anyone interested.
