Often team pages are used to display current information that needs to be updated periodically. This could be information about upcoming OTB tournaments, lists of winners of previous team tournaments, tables with current scores of ongoing multi-week tournaments, etc.
It would be extremely handy if team leaders could use the API to update the public and private team descriptions.

I too agree with this feature. In various teams created especially for tournaments it could be easily used to show standings, brackets, etc. based on lichess swiss/arena tournaments.
