Issues getting the theme to even work

Hello, i stumbled across this theme and as a fan of the series wanted to use it on my system (ElementaryOS 6.1 jolnir if it's important) and i thought it would go well with windowmaker (the DE for GNUstep)
I've installed all the dependencies required, and followed the guide step by step and it just flat out doesn't work.
here is the results of the sddm test if it's any help:

Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, vnc, xcb.

this mentions QT platform plugins but they're installed? i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times.
