E.g. if someone forgot to make the method static. Eventually we should support non-static methods too.

Is still still true as of 1.4.1? I'm only starting out but as far as I can tell, instance methods seem to work?

Hi @oising, this should still be true as of now, but what you say is interesting, perhaps there is some issue there, I will investigate.
