Just a heads up I've released Raiun 0.9.0 beta with encrypted folders and Spaces, biometric unlock and encrypted offline access. A lot of testing and security hardening has gone into this. I haven't found unintended plaintext leaks in testing so far, though it hasn't had an independent security audit obviously. Biometric unlock uses an encrypted key stored in the Android Keystore |

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on an alternative android app for accessing my OpenCloud server while I am going through de-Googling.
I started with changes to the official app like dark mode but wanted something closer to the awesome webapp and some extra features like document scanning I was missing from Google Drive but didn't want anything that relied on Play services. I also struggled working with the existing Java code so I went with Kotlin and Compose which I’m more comfortable with. Changed the logo and name purely to avoid any misidentification and allow installing side by side with the official app, no other reason.
I appreciate the official team’s work. If anything here turns out useful, I’d be happy to help bring it over. I’d like to understand their plans first rather than dump a bunch of big PRs on them.
I’ve used AI to help build it. If that puts you off thats fair and no hard feelings its not your cup of tea. I still care about security and privacy and take responsibility for what I release.
It’s an independent project and still beta but I’m using it myself and plan to keep fixing bugs, addressing security issues and adding things I need. Feel free to try it, and please report issues on my repo so the real opencloud team doesn't get any random requests
