Pinned apps in (ungrouped) Window list

Currently there are two ways to show your running apps in the panel, a grouped window list and a (an ungrouped) window list.

The grouped window list shows only one icon per app, regardless of how many windows are open with a notification icon saying how many there are open. It also allows pining of said apps so you also have a shortcut to open the app from the panel.
I don't want to go into how cumbersome the grouped variant is to use as I don't want grouped icons anyway (and went to great lengths to find a solution to fix it on Windows).

The problem with the Window list, that does not group the icons and shows X icons for X open windows of the same app, is that it does not allow pining of apps.

If it would be possible to add the option to pin apps in the window list applet, that would solve all my problems.
