This highlight depends on your theme. Open Mint's settings, try the default themes first and if you're not happy, download more themes under themes, then advanced button. You can find even more themes on Pling, but pay attention at the release date, some themes there are a bit outdated. |

In my existing theme, the background for the workspace number was a vivid green. Now it's a shade of gray. I didn't change anything in my theme configuration, something changed in the 6.4.3 release. Also, I noticed that when switching workspaces, the visual feedback is now small and at the bottom of the screen. Not nearly as informative as it was previously (large text in the middle of the screen), especially on a large monitor. Again, the intent here seems to be to make workspace feedback much more subdued, which strikes me as a puzzling UX decision. |

This was the default behavior (as best as I can tell), but I just upgraded to 6.4.3, and now the only indication of what the current workspace is is the number for that workspace is in a slightly brighter color. This is way too subdued, in my opinion, for some important information that is represented by a single digit (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.). I don't understand the rationale for this, but it would be great in the workspace configuration if I could turn the background highlight back on. This change seems like not a great one for older folks with less than great eyesight, I think it's a genuine accessibility issue.
