Besides that I don't really see a fit for this on PG. How does this help users to gain privacy? This is just yet another infra.

Well it would be a developer could make a mobile app that has push notifications, but doesn't send it through Google i suppose.

Appwrite being a self hosted alternative to Firebase, can be a great addition to the provider category on privacy guides.

Appwrite, being a self hosted solution allows developers to host on their own servers and homelabs thereby giving them complete control over their data.

I believe I do not have permissions to convert this to a discussion. Would you please do that from your end ?

@dngray yeah if there will be a section for developers, it surely could be listed, just didn't see it being as helpful to general user. There are more things we could plug for devs I think.

No, gotify is an alternative for Firebase Cloud Messenger, which provides push notifications. Appwrite is an alternative to Firebase Auth and Cloud Firestore, providing a database and user management.

the cloud storage section is for storage of documents in the cloud not really for development tools.
