Video does not start on first click on button in mobile Chrome on Android

I used this example (a slightly changed version in another branch) to test this:

It works as expected on my desktop (Windows 10) in Chrome, but not in latest Chrome on Android 10.

The referred issue #6 explains exactly this scenario. Two taps on mobile to get a play. Irish confirmed he observed it inconsistently on Android Chrome but he couldn't pin-point the root cause, assuming it's a user gesture policy.

This is, in all technical capacity, a duplicate issue to #6 since they're both reporting the same situation causing a break.
