Composer already allows the user to turn on the synth feature, which can seem quite similar / redundant with this suggestion.
Add an assist tick feature; during playback, each song "bubble" generates a small audible tick. The tick only marks the start of a "bubble", to fine-tune rhythm.
I'm not quite sold on the usefulness of this. It might be nice with dancing but composer doesn't support authoring dance steps and pitch information is pretty vital in with singing.
Of course, and - contrary to Stepmania - this isn't a gameplay addition.
However, there are two vital informations regarding singing: pitch, and
timing. An assist tick makes things a lot more obvious when creating charts
regarding timing fine-tuning, especially when authoring fast singing lines
with syllables close to one another, phrase by phrase. This is much more
precise than the synth, in this regard.
Try this: play a song, and tap your fingers against your desk each syllable
you hear.
(nb: YASS also features an assist tick)

This would be similar to Stepmania's Assist Tick option, as seen on this video for instance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCEcrRMfpSA
