While comparing both the original Windows version and this port, I found out the latter has a relatively slower movement/animation speed, which results in many discrepancies while in gameplay.
Here's a series of videos demonstrating the issues. Please watch them all carefully!
Here a discrepancy on the main character's movement speed and the statue's firing cycle makes it impossible to clear this sequence in one jump, which greatly harms speedruns. This is however possible in the Windows version: speed windows.mp4.zip speed linux.mp4.zip both statue fire.mp4.zip
Finally, here, you can see how the slashing animation speed on the port allows you to kill two enemies in one blow, something that is not possible in the Windows version. slash windows.mp4.zip slash linux.mp4.zip
Overall, comparing both versions, the Windows original just feels smoother and faster. The port needs have speed and animations properly calibrated in order to match it perfectly.

Boss speed also seems to be affected, as with the rest of the enemies. My feeling is that all in-game animations and animated character or objects, along with the hero's movement/climbing/jumping/attack speed on the port are at 75% of the original speed.
