Cockpit https://cockpit-project.org/ can make a great webconsole and basic NAS setup with container support.
It would be so great to get a carrier that has 1x Sata onboard as with the 5x m.2 sata boards avail x6 sata provides some interesting options for raid 0, 0+1, 10, 5, 6
The pcie2.1 m.2 is not really of interest as 2.5gb ethernet will still likely bottleneck throughput where it would be great to see 5gbe but wifi can be routed as its very likely many networks will already contain a router.
As said even though just 1 sata that does increase valid RAID options considerably if no 5gbe then 2.5gbe with a single USB3 OTG.
Also would be great to be powered by standard 12v barrel than PD with onboard connectors for a couple of SATA power strings.
Maybe the USB2.0 are of interest but apart from that a minimal NAS focused carrier where a collection of cockpit modules can be configured ready in images for ubuntu/debian.
