The sample tesnet configs were updated in this PR: #5672

which will be merged to master for the next release. for now, you may use the sample conf at https://github.com/stacks-network/stacks-core/blob/develop/sample/conf/testnet-follower-conf.toml

there was also a short time where the burnchain node had the p2p port firewalled, but it has since been opened
