Call for Speakers

We are selecting and curating a list of speakers (and topics) that we think should present, but we know we're missing
on amazing opportunities and we hope to get you to submit talks for the upcoming Realtime Conference Europe. This Call for Presentation closes on Feburay 15th, 2013.

Topics

Our general understand of realtime web is that it encapsulates everything that makes the web faster. Whether it's in the app itself, between the server and the client, on the client, in the data store, or even between apps... etc. Please, note that we have a strong bias toward the open web, which means we'll tend to favor open source products, protocols and technologies.

If you really like tags, here is a list: Nodejs, SPDY, WebRTC, XMPP, WebSockets, Redis, HAProxy, Socket.io, HTML5, Ruby on Rails, Push Notifications ... and more!

Check the videos from the Realtime Conference 2012 and 2011 in Portland, Oregon, but please don't limit yourself to these topics.

Perks

We know you'll do an amazing job, and we want you here, so we'll make sure we remove all the road blocks. We'll cover for your travel expenses, your stay here, in Lyon, and your conference ticket.

Also, Lyon is an amazing place to spend a couple days in spring, and we will make sure everyone at the conference gets a taste of it, with side activities that involve food and wine that we hope you'll remember. This is covered for speakers, obviously.

Of course, if you or your company can cover any of these costs, we're grateful as we can save on making the conference even better, and list your company as a sponsor.

Selection Process

We've taken the process from the great folks at JSConf EU. Why re-invent the wheel?

Anonymize submissions, to avoid personal bias.

Grouping of topics and ranking by 'field experts' on the topics alone.

De-anonymize so we can (finally) bias against speaker details (based on our budget, we might opt for a local or at least closer-by (read: cheaper to transport) speaker).

Guidelines

English only. Accents encouraged though :)

30 minutes. We suggest timing your presentation in advance.

No Q&A. We ask speakers to make themselves available for question in the back room during the following session though.

Be creative. Extra points for demos, live coding.

Please read our Code of Conduct.

The Form

Sorry, the call for speakers is now over. See you at the conference!
