I'm not sure if page breaks are the same as page #'s, but @ www.screenplain.com neither appear in the HTML output. Is it because it would be weird on a continuous HTML page?
One of the trickiest parts about writing in fountain is never knowing what TRUE page you are on. Personally, even if it looked funky, it would be useful to see page #'s in the HTML output.
I imagine you would implement page #'s when you get PDF export working, correct?
Thanks!

Thanks for liking Screenplain! I guess it would be possible to include page numbers in HTML output, but that would be going a bit against how HTML works, as a page is just one single tall page. The tricky part is that to add page numbers to the HTML, Screenplain would have to know where each page begins and ends, and currently it doesn't. This is not trivial to solve in HTML, especially without adding browser-based Javascript to the page. For PDF output, it would be more natural though. Word wrapping and widow/orphan handling is one of the reasons I haven't implemented PDF output yet, but once that's solved it shouldn't be hard to add to the HTML output (although it may look ugly).
Hi, screenplain is a terrific tool. Thank you.
