PhD student working on computational fluid dynamics, direct numerical simulation, and large-scale multi-GPU scientific computing.
My research focuses on the interaction between numerical methods, parallel computing, and complex thermal-flow phenomena. I am currently developing BACFD, a block-based CFD framework designed for high-resolution natural-convection simulations and adaptive mesh refinement.
- Direct numerical simulation of natural convection
- Transition from laminar flow to turbulence
- Thermal plume formation and plume interactions
- Non-Boussinesq natural convection
- Block-structured adaptive mesh refinement
- GPU-accelerated CFD
- Large-scale multi-node and multi-GPU computing
I investigate the development of natural-convection structures above finite heated circular plates, including:
- Laminar boundary-layer development near the plate edge
- Transitional thermal structures
- Formation and interaction of turbulent plumes
- Rayleigh-number-dependent flow transitions
- Local and area-averaged Nusselt-number distributions
- Spectral and statistical analysis of unsteady thermal structures
The numerical simulations are performed using high-order finite-volume methods and direct numerical simulation.
My current work also examines the coupling between:
- Buoyancy-driven natural convection
- Rotation-induced radial and tangential flow
- Temperature-dependent viscosity
- Heat-transfer enhancement or suppression
- Transition between natural-, forced-, and mixed-convection regimes
