The Disable Media Chrome extension provides users with control over media elements on any webpage. It allows you to:
- Disable or pause video playback.
- Block images and GIFs from loading.
- Manage your preferences with persistent settings.

- Use keyboard shortcuts for quick toggling.
- Automatically disable media on slow network connections.
- Toggle a dark mode for the extension UI.
- Pause/Play Video: Easily pause or resume videos on the page.
- Disable Images: Prevent images from loading, saving bandwidth and speeding up browsing.
- Block GIFs: Block only GIF files if desired.
- Whitelist/Blacklist: Manage websites where media should be allowed or blocked.

. - Dark Mode: Enjoy a dark UI in the popup for night-time use.

- Context Menu: Right-click on the page to quickly disable media.
- Clone or download this repository.
- Open Chrome and navigate to
chrome://extensions/
. - Enable Developer mode.
- Click Load unpacked and select the directory where you cloned or downloaded the extension.
- The Disable Media extension will now be available in your Chrome toolbar.
- Open the extension from the Chrome toolbar.
- Toggle the options to disable videos, images, or GIFs.
- Add domains to the whitelist/blacklist to manage specific sites.
- Use keyboard shortcuts for quick access:
Ctrl+Shift+V
to toggle video playback.Ctrl+Shift+I
to toggle image loading.
- Enable dark mode for a more comfortable viewing experience at night.
