Unifying Monitor

Read the status of the devices paired to a Logitech Unifying receiver on Haiku - battery, link state, names, serials - from a native application and a Deskbar power indicator.

Read-only by design. It never pairs, unpairs, or changes device settings. This may be changed in the future if there is a need.

Installing

You can install via the pre-built .hpkg, or build from the source.

Logging Bugs

Bugs are welcome! To log a bug, please log it here in github as an issue, and include as much detail as possible.

  • Attach your syslog file
  • Include the device ID found by running 'listusb' from the command line
  • If you hit KDL then please include a picture of the screen

Contributing

PRs are welcome! However, please follow the guidelines below.

  • Test all code changes before opening the PR!
  • Please adhere to the style guide (which is pretty much standard Haiku coding style)
  • Make sure to update documentation as needed
  • Any major features should include a design document

What it shows

Receiver — product name, VID:PID, firmware version, slots used.

Per device — name, kind, pairing slot, wireless PID, serial, HID++ version, link status, battery reading, which source the battery reading came from, and when it was last read.

A Logitech device may report a true percentage, a coarse discrete level, a voltage, or an old-style four-step "mileage". Unifying Monitor shows you which one you are looking at.

Command line options

unifying list # one line per pairing slot
unifying show 5 # everything known about one device
unifying deskbar add # put the indicator in the Deskbar

The indicator can also be added from the window, under Device. The full command set is in docs/DOCUMENTATION.md §1.

Not in scope

Pairing, other receiver families, DPI and key remapping, firmware updates, battery history graphs. The reasons are in docs/DOCUMENTATION.md §14.
