fix(query-core): use a hydrated query's current 'retry' options when it rejects - #12511
When the server dehydrates a pending query and its promise later rejects in the browser, the retries ignore the reader's retry and retryDelay. Repro in #12529. Discovered while working on the tRPC-equivalent of #12512.
A fetch that resumes a hydrated promise now takes retry and retryDelay from, in order:
the options a mounted observer (e.g. useQuery) set itself
the defaultOptions.queries passed to hydrate or HydrationBoundary
the client's defaults
useQuery merges client defaults into its options, so the observer can't tell what the caller set. queryClient.defaultQueryOptions now records the options it was called with in a WeakMap, keyed by the object it returns.
Every other fetch keeps the options it started with.
New tests in hydration.test.tsx:
The observer's retry: 1 and retryDelay: 10 apply, so the query retries and gets data. Fails without the fix.
The observer's retry: false applies, so the query fails at once. Fails without the fix.
With no observer options, hydrate's retry: false wins over the client's retry: 1.
I have tested code changes locally with pnpm run test:pr, or these tests do not apply to this pull request. (Ran oxlint, knip, test:types across all TS versions and vitest for query-core and react-query, plus the docs link check.)
I have followed the AI contribution policy and fully understand the code in this pull request, including any code generated with AI assistance.

Bug Fixes
Hydrated queries that reject while pending now use retry settings from mounted observers when provided, then hydration settings, and otherwise client defaults.
Retry delays follow the same precedence, making retry behavior more consistent during hydration.
… 'retry' options
A query hydrated while pending resumes the dehydrated promise through a
retryer created at hydration time, before any observer has set the
query's options. Its retries used the 'retry' and 'retryDelay' the query
had then, so an observer's 'retry: false' or 'retryDelay' was ignored.
Read 'retry' and 'retryDelay' from the query's options at the time of
each failure for fetches that resume an 'initialPromise'. Other fetches
keep the options they started with.

When a hydrated pending query rejects, retry settings now use explicitly set observer options when available. Otherwise, the fetch uses its context options. Tests cover observer and hydration retry settings, and a patch changeset describes the precedence.
ownQueryOptions stores caller-provided retry and retryDelay values alongside defaulted options.
Resolve retries for hydrated fetches packages/query-core/src/query.ts, packages/query-core/src/__tests__/hydration.test.tsx, .changeset/hydrated-rejection-retry.md
For fetches with an initialPromise, Query.fetch uses the first defined observer-owned retry option, then falls back to fetch context options. Tests cover observer and hydration settings. The changeset records this precedence.

Hydrated retries can unexpectedly change if callers mutate an observer’s original options object. This is a bounded edge case; snapshotting the two retry fields would remove the inconsistency.

Explanation
Issue #12529 is the only active direct link. Its coding requirement: when a hydrated pending query rejects, retries must use the reader's retry and retryDelay. Otherwise the order is hydrate options, then client defaults.
Evidence at head:
query.ts: when fetchOptions.initialPromise is set, the new getters getRetryOption('retry') and getRetryOption('retryDelay') check each this.observers[].options through ownQueryOptions. The first explicitly set value wins. If none is set, context.options is used. Other fetches use context.options only.
retryer.ts: createRetryer reads config.retry and config.retryDelay inside the rejection handler (lazily, per failure). The getters are therefore evaluated after an observer mounts, so an observer set later is used.
queryClient.ts: defaultQueryOptions records the raw caller options via ownQueryOptions.set(defaultedOptions, options). Already-defaulted options (_defaulted) are returned unchanged, so useQuery's double defaulting keeps the caller's own options as the record. Client defaults therefore do not count as observer-set values.
utils.ts: adds the ownQueryOptions WeakMap.
Tests: the PR description and raw summary report three hydration tests (observer retry: 1 and retryDelay: 10; observer retry: false; hydrate retry: false over client retry: 1 with no observer options). These cover the issue's three expected behaviors. I did not run the tests. Test results rest on the author's report.
No concrete unmet coding requirement found in the changed code.

All changed files relate to the #12529 fix: query.ts (retry and retryDelay selection for initialPromise fetches), queryClient.ts (recording caller options), utils.ts (ownQueryOptions helper), packages/query-core/src/tests/hydration.test.tsx (regression tests for the fix), and a patch changeset for @tanstack/query-core. No unrelated behavior change is present. The ownQueryOptions helper is marked @internal and supports the fix directly.

A hydrated fetch now reads retry and retryDelay from the query's current
options at each failure, falling back to the options it started with. This
drops the changes to infiniteQueryBehavior.ts, queryClient.ts and utils.ts,
and replaces the hydration tests with two that fail without the fix.

A hydrated query's retries take retry and retryDelay from the options an
observer set itself, then the hydration options, then the client's defaults.
defaultQueryOptions records the options it was called with, so the query can
tell an observer's own options from defaults.

Add a test for a partial retry override with hydrate fallback.
The three new tests do not cover a reader that sets only one of retry or retryDelay. The retry-success test sets both. The other two set only retry: false, which makes retryDelay irrelevant. A change that replaces both values when either is set would still pass. Add a case where the reader sets only retry: 1, and hydrate supplies retryDelay: 10. Assert that the retry waits 10 ms. The current code resolves each option separately, so this test should pass now.
