Initial Setup

1. xcode-select --install

2. curl -fsSL https://mise.run | sh

3. Clone. The symlinks point into this path, so do not move it later.

   git clone https://github.com/abnoumaru/dotfiles ~/src/github.com/abnoumaru/dotfiles
   cd ~/src/github.com/abnoumaru/dotfiles
   mise trust

4. Move aside any existing file the dry run reports as a conflict, then apply.

   mise bootstrap --dry-run
   mise bootstrap

5. Set the git identity, which stays out of this repository, then gh auth login. --global would write into this repository, because without ~/.gitconfig git writes to ~/.config/git/config. The signing key is the public half of the SSH key in 1Password; turn on its SSH agent under Settings → Developer.

   git config --file ~/.gitconfig user.name "<name>"
   git config --file ~/.gitconfig user.email "<email>"
   git config --file ~/.gitconfig user.signingkey "<ssh public key>"

6. Log out and back in, and grant Karabiner-Elements its permissions.

Deleting an entry does not uninstall or unlink anything:

git pull
mise trust
mise bootstrap
