Xi's Dotfiles

Development environment for macOS with Helix editor optimized for writing.

Included

• Helix (soft wrap, markdown LSP)
• Git (GPG signing, aliases)
• Zsh (completion, aliases)
• Codex (global config.toml and AGENTS.md)
• CLI tools (ripgrep, fd, gh, marksman)

Installation

mkdir -p ~/aefhm && cd ~/aefhm
git clone https://github.com/aefhm/dotfiles.git && cd dotfiles
make

Post-install:

sudo scutil --set HostName your-machine-name
sudo scutil --set LocalHostName your-machine-name
sudo scutil --set ComputerName your-machine-name
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -C "info@xizhang.page"

Requirements

• macOS with Xcode CLI tools
• Copies new configs into ~/, ~/.config/, and ~/.codex/ without overwriting existing files

Git ignore rules

git/ignore is the global ignore template, installed at ~/.config/.gitignore and referenced by .gitconfig. The root .gitignore is reserved for rules specific to this repository.
