Haven is a comprehensive financial management system designed to provide users with detailed insights into their transactions, accounts, and financial health through a variety of data visualizations and summaries.
These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes.
Before you begin, ensure you have the following installed:
- Go (version 1.21)
- MySQL (version 5.7 or later)

- Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/christo-andrew/haven.git
cd haven
- Set up the database
If you're using Docker, you can set up a MySQL database using:
Remember to update the .env
database configuration with your credentials.
docker run --name haven-db -e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=yourPassword -e MYSQL_DATABASE=haven -p 3306:3306 -d mysql:latest
- Install dependencies
Navigate to the project directory and install the Go dependencies:
go mod tidy
To start the server, run:
go run main.go
The server should now be running and accessible at http://localhost:8080/api/v1/swagger/index.html

The API documentation is available in the docs/swagger.json
file. You can view it using any Swagger UI viewer.
