Factory.New(ctx apiv1.CallContext) accepted a call context but never used it, so every request fell back to the OpenStack endpoint and credentials baked into the job's static config at deploy time. This broke directors using a CPI config with multiple named OpenStack CPIs (multi-CPI/multi-AZ setups): every request - regardless of which named CPI the director selected - was served by whichever OpenStack region/project happened to be the job's default, silently sending requests (e.g. image/flavor/network lookups) to the wrong OpenStack. The legacy Ruby CPI handled this correctly via `cloud_properties['openstack'].merge!(context)` in cpi_lambda.rb, overlaying the per-request context on top of the static config before building the cloud connection. This adds OpenstackConfig.MergeContext, which performs the equivalent merge for the Go CPI: only OpenStack fields present in the call context override the static config, everything else is left as-is. Factory.New now merges the context before constructing any CPI methods, so all OpenStack service builders use the per-request configuration. As a side effect, this also fixes OpenstackConfig.VM.Stemcell.APIVersion (read by SetVMMetadataMethod), which mirrors the stemcell API version every call context carries but was previously always zero since no context was ever merged into the config.

An absent RPC context made CallContext. As fail with 'unexpected end of JSON input', breaking every call without a context (single-CPI directors). Short-circuit when the raw context payload is empty; a present but malformed context is still rejected. Addresses PR cloudfoundry#368 review feedback.

Per PR cloudfoundry#368 review: the dispatcher leaves RawMessage empty only when the context is omitted, so a whitespace-only payload is a present (malformed) context and must be rejected by CallContext. As rather than treated as 'no overrides'. Drop bytes.TrimSpace (and the now-unused bytes import).

… selection Per CodeRabbit review: 1. Move validation to Factory.New after MergeContext, so it validates the merged configuration regardless of whether context is present. MergeContext no longer validates; validation is the caller's responsibility. 2. Update OpenstackService to use the merged config's Region for endpoint selection, falling back to OS_REGION_NAME env var only when config.Region is empty. Apply consistently to all service methods. This ensures invalid context overrides are rejected and multi-CPI region overrides actually affect service endpoints.

Per CodeRabbit review: OpenstackConfig supports two mutually exclusive credential forms (username/api_key vs application_credential_id/secret). When a multi-CPI director's context switches to one form, MergeContext now removes the other form from the base config before applying overrides. Without this, a merged config carries both pairs: Validate() rejects it, and AuthOptions() would mis-resolve (it prefers username/api_key whenever present). Added tests covering both switch directions, each asserting the opposite pair is cleared and the merged config validates.

…n with catalog Addresses two Copilot review findings (confirmed by maintainer @neddp): 1. MergeContext credential clearing (config.go): previously it detected a credential-type switch by key presence alone, so a context carrying application_credential_id/secret (or username/api_key) as null or empty string would wipe the working credentials from the static config and make Factory.New reject the call. Now the opposite pair is cleared only when the context supplies a non-empty string value (new hasNonEmptyValue helper). Added regression tests for null/empty in both directions. 2. Integration tests (integration_suite_test.go, create_vm_test.go): the shared fixtures set Region: 'region' while the mock catalogs advertise RegionOne. Now that the merged config's region reaches endpoint discovery, gophercloud found no matching endpoint and 88/94 integration specs failed. Aligned the fixture region to RegionOne to match the catalog, keeping the region precedence behavior. Full integration suite passes again. Thanks to @neddp for the review and for flagging the failing integration tests.

…redentials Follow-up to CodeRabbit review on a2e96f7: hasNonEmptyValue stopped the opposite credential pair from being deleted, but the overlay loop still copied every context field - so a context like {"region":"PO-C","api_key":null} would overwrite the static config's working api_key with null and fail Factory.New. Now any credential field (username, api_key, application_credential_id, application_credential_secret) carried as null or empty string is dropped from the context up front, so it neither triggers a false credential-type switch nor overwrites the static value. Replaced hasNonEmptyValue with isNonEmptyJSONString and added a regression test for the same-pair null overwrite case.

Per CodeRabbit security review on 94fc2ec: the context filter discarded any non-string credential value (e.g. "api_key": 12345). Combined with an auth_url override, Factory.New could then fall back to the static credentials against the context-overridden endpoint - a credential-exposure risk. MergeContext now returns an error for a non-string credential value (username, api_key, application_credential_id, application_credential_secret), while still treating null and empty string as 'not supplied'. Added a regression test for a numeric api_key override.
