Now that 3.15.0 is out and 3.10 has reached end-of-life (2026-10-01), this bumps the supported Python versions:

  • Drop 3.10: requires-python becomes >=3.11, and 3.11 replaces 3.10 as the oldest version tested on all three platforms. Ruff takes its target version from requires-python, so downstream projects may see new pyupgrade (UP) suggestions.
  • Latest stable: 3.14 → 3.15 on Linux, macOS and Windows. 3.14 moves to the Ubuntu-only list.
  • Pre-release: 3.16 replaces 3.15 (Ubuntu only). It gets the existing pre-release handling in test-suite.yml: continue-on-error and the libxml2/libxslt build headers.

Notes:

  • 3.16.0a1 is on python.org but isn't in actions/python-versions yet, so the 3.16 job will fail during setup until it is. That job is non-blocking.
