Change Description

Soak Setup: AArch64 Linux Reference now stages gds-plugin/ from fprime-community/fprime-rfm69-feather-groundstation (sparse checkout of gds-plugin) and no longer expects it in the soak reference checkout.

- name: "Checkout RFM69 Feather groundstation"
  uses: actions/checkout@v4
  with:
    repository: fprime-community/fprime-rfm69-feather-groundstation
    path: fprime-rfm69-feather-groundstation
    sparse-checkout: gds-plugin
    persist-credentials: false
- name: "Stage GDS plugin"
  run: cp -r fprime-rfm69-feather-groundstation/gds-plugin gds-plugin

Rationale

fprime-soak-test-reference#7 moved the space-packet-fprime GDS plugin to the groundstation repo. The workflow still archives gds-plugin from the reference checkout, and the staged requirements.txt still contains ./gds-plugin. With the directory gone, soak-setup's pip install -r requirements.txt fails during deploy.

fprime-rfm69-feather-groundstation#3 (merged) updated that plugin for fprime-gds 4.4.0 by adding SpacePacketSplitterFramerDeframer. Without that change, GDS throws away the aggregated RFM69 downlink frames.

Testing/Review Recommendations

  • The workflow YAML parses and pre-commit passes.
  • The same plugin, built from the groundstation repo, was exercised on the soak testbed (Pi flight board plus Feather RFM69 ground radio). That run used the fprime-soak-test-reference#11 v4.4.0 build and fprime-gds 4.4.0, and the reference integration suite passed 15/15 twice.
  • This workflow has not been dispatched yet. It builds the reference's main, so fprime-soak-test-reference#11 must merge before Soak Setup can build against v4.4.0.

Future Work

  • After merge, dispatch Soak Setup.
  • Confirm that the deployed FSW has CAP_SYS_NICE.

AI Usage (see policy)

Devin (AI) traced the Soak Setup failure, wrote this workflow change, and ran the hardware integration tests, at the direction of @LeStarch.

IAMAI

fprime-soak-test-reference#7 moved the space-packet-fprime GDS plugin to
fprime-rfm69-feather-groundstation, so the reference checkout no longer has
gds-plugin/ and pip install -r requirements.txt (./gds-plugin) fails in
soak-setup.
