What

The Troubleshooting hub only offered area tiles, and several of their links went to setup or concept pages rather than troubleshooting content. Its "On this page" list was empty. This PR adds a short list of the most common issues, fills out the area tiles, and fixes the table of contents.

No URLs changed, no pages added or removed, and every existing anchor still exists.

Common issues

Troubleshooting hub: intro and the Common issues table with eight symptoms and the guide for each

Find your issue by area and Still stuck?

Troubleshooting hub: six area tiles with section chips, followed by the Still stuck box with the two support buttons

Changes

help/troubleshooting.mdx

  • Common issues: a new table with the eight problems support sees most often, each linking to the section that fixes it: Waiting for Approval, peer session expiration, relayed connections, performance, resource connectivity, firewalls, DNS, and Reverse Proxy 502s and certificates.
  • Find your issue by area: every tile now links to specific sections:
    • NetBird Client: status, debug bundle, debug logs, login and SSO, Windows SSO port 53000, stuck at Connecting, host firewall fallback, and the five platform pages.
    • Connectivity & networking: relayed, control plane, resources, routing peers, performance, MTU, DNS, ports and firewalls, corporate firewalls, and NB_FWMARK_BASE.
    • Access control: policy checks and netbird debug trace instead of the concept pages.
    • Cloud & identity: adds sign-in domains, session expiration, and MSP tenants.
    • Reverse Proxy (new tile): the existing troubleshooting and custom domain sections.
    • Self-hosted: all six troubleshooting subpages.
  • Removed or replaced links:
    • "Connection issues" pointed at Pion ICE trace logging and now points at the client status checks.
    • "Routes & exit nodes" pointed at a section that doesn't cover exit nodes.
    • "Signal service", "Network routes" and "Groups" pointed at concept pages.
  • Still stuck?: says what to include and when a debug bundle helps. It also links the HAR file guide and the support matrix.

help/troubleshooting-account-access.mdx

  • New section, "A teammate got their own account": covers a teammate on another domain who signs in and lands in a new, empty account. It lists the causes (unverified domain, personal address, domain not classified as private) and the fix (sign-in domains or a direct invite). It also covers the limits: verifying doesn't move existing accounts, and the section only shows for private-domain accounts.
  • "Why this happens" now mentions sign-in domains.

Table of contents (mdx/rehype.mjs, StillStuck.jsx)

"On this page" only listed Markdown headings, so the h2 headings rendered by TroubleshootingStart, TroubleshootingTiles and StillStuck never appeared. getSections now adds those three components when they have literal title and id props, and StillStuck accepts an id. This also adds the missing entries on /help/troubleshooting-client and /selfhosted/troubleshooting. The latter gets an id on its "Collect diagnostics first" panel.

Verification

  • Checked every link and anchor on the two changed pages against a production build.
  • npm run lint:mdx and npm run build pass.
  • Checked these against source:
    • --anonymize behavior: client/cmd/root.go
    • connection type for peers that aren't connected: client/status/status.go
    • approval for domain joins: addNewUserToDomainAccount in management/server/account.go
    • the Sign-in Domains visibility rule: dashboard SignInDomainsSettings.tsx
  • Couldn't verify: the Cloud-side sign-in domain matching is closed source, so the account-access page describes it as domain matching.

Not in this PR

The sidebar's Troubleshooting groups still follow the old tiles. For example, there's no Reverse Proxy group.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Expanded troubleshooting with a common-issues table and guides covering clients, connectivity, access control, Cloud and identity, reverse proxies, and self-hosted deployments.
    • Explained why teammates may land in separate Cloud accounts, how domain matching and invitations work, and how approval affects sign-ups. Clarified that domain matching does not apply to self-hosted deployments.
    • Updated “Still stuck?” guidance with contact notes, report-preparation tips, and links for debug bundles, HAR recordings, and the support matrix.
    • Updated guidance on which Cloud and self-hosted deployments NetBird Support primarily covers.
  • Improvements
    • Added table-of-contents navigation for troubleshooting sections and links.

…rea tiles

Lead the Troubleshooting hub with a table of the issues support sees most
often, and give each area tile the sections a reader actually needs,
including a new Reverse Proxy tile.

Add the case where a teammate signs in and gets their own account to the
pending approval page, with sign-in domains as the fix.

List the headings rendered by the troubleshooting components in "On this
page", which previously only showed Markdown headings.

I’m a rabbit with a fresh-built guide,
I hop through links from side to side.
New anchors point where headings grow,
And domain notes explain the flow.
I nibble leaves, then thump with cheer,
The paths to help are clearer here!

- Personal-address teammate: drop the direct-invite advice, since a user
who already has an account can't be invited; point to the work address
  or NetBird Support instead.
- Support audience: say NetBird Support is mainly for paying Cloud
customers and commercial-license deployments, consistently across the
troubleshooting hub, the support page, and the report-bug page.
- Common issues table: fixed 50/50 columns, with the Start here column
padded to line up with the right-hand area tiles at any width.
- Still stuck: match the width and side padding of the tiles, center the
title and buttons, and put a short audience note under each button.
The report hint moves to its own line above the links, with a new
  Debug bundle link.
