Hi Praydog
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 2.0 update – the game no longer launches in Praydog’s UEVR mod!
There’s been an update to 2.0 in Stalker 2… Please, Praydog, help us – on behalf of thousands of Stalker 2 players – to get the game working in UEVR again! Or please keep an eye out for a possible UEVR update…
Thanks for everything you’ve done for us freaks so far!
Daniel

Please help us. Just bought the game today to enjoy it in VR... and it crashes at launch.
Please update your Praydog UEVR mod.
Thank you

I ran into the same thing and made a quick fix while waiting for an official update.
It's working for me in STALKER 2 on UE 5.5.4 (Quest 3 over Virtual Desktop, OpenXR).

Temporary build: https://github.com/Remleo/UEVR/releases/latest

It's praydog's nightly 01143 with only UEVRBackend.dll rebuilt. Extract it and use it like the nightly.

What was broken on this version of the game:

• UEVR picked the wrong console manager, so every cvar lookup fell back to a slow scan of the whole exe.
The game sat on a black screen for about a minute after injection and looked frozen.
• The UI never reached the headset, because UE 5.5 passes all windows to Slate as one array.

If the game still crashes right after injection, check your profile for third-party plugin DLLs.
An older profile shipped a compiled plugin that crashed on this version for me; the game loaded fine without it.

The fixes are submitted upstream as praydog/UESDK#3, praydog/UESDK#4 and #443.
praydog will probably solve it better, so treat this only as a stopgap until an official nightly has it.
