In Bean Counter we have projects and proposals - as opposed to invoices. Projects have varyign different stages including
- Proposal (Just a glint in the client's eye)
- Green lit (Client has ok'd this project and it is definitely going to start at some point)
- Started (This project in full swing)
- Invoiced (You've sent a request for money to the client for this project)
- Completed (All money owed for this project has been paid)
- Head to the projects page and click the Add new project link.
- Fill-in all the required fields - noted by a star
- Select which client this is for from the Client dropdown. if the client doesn't exist in the system. Click the Plus icon next to the drop down and a lightbox will open up with the Add new client form inside it. Add the client and press submit. The lightbox will close the dropdown will auto-select the new client
- Selecting the client will auto-populate the For the attention of field
- Then add line items/tasks to the project
- Press Submit
These are items on your invoice. You may want to break your invoice down into several different elements. Goods purchased e.g. stock photography, fonts or hosting could be one line item/task and charges for your time could be another. Put in a price for each item and Bean Counter will add them up for you.
