How to send an invoice

To send an invoice you've first got to

  • Create a project
  • Add tasks to that project (so that the project has a monetary value)

Head to the projects page, hover over the relevant row in the projects table and click the Invoice link.

You'll be taken to a form. The form will have the main contact of your client (for this project) already filled-in but there is a further field to CC people. Say if you need to let someone else know about this invoice. You've be BCC'd on the email so you don't need to put your email in the CC field.

The subject line and the body of the email are already filled in but can be amended if you wish - just don't delete the link to the online version of the email.

Select the date in the Payment Required datepicker option (this is so Bean Counter knows when invoices are due and overdue and warns you accordingly from the dashboard) then press Send.

An invoice will be sent to you with the subject and title from the form and HTML version of the email attached. The user will be able to download a PDF version if they click on the online version link in the email.

On your dashboard, this project will now move into the projects awaiting payment section - from the projects your currently working on/waiting to start section.
